Dr. Ireny Barsoum

Hello! My name is Ireny. I was born and raised in Egypt, I have a deep appreciation for my roots, and if you’re curious, feel free to ask me about the pyramids! I’ve always had a deep love for animals and a passion for travel, which significantly influenced my decision to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Graduating from St. Georges University, Grenada, in 2023, I bring knowledge and compassion to my role. I’ve grown up with various species of animals, the first of which was a Red-Eared slider turtle.

I joined the Abbey Animal Hospital family in August 2023 and found my niche in surgery—a field that continually fascinates me. Beyond the operating room, what I love most about my job is connecting with clients and helping them care for their cherished pets. I’m always thrilled to receive doggie kisses and hear those comforting kittie motors.

The heart of Abbey Animal Hospital lies in its incredible team, and I’m grateful to work alongside such dedicated and supportive colleagues. I am excited to meet and work with you.
